This was an essay I wrote about 7 years ago regarding online gaming and Shadow Operations. Video games have captured the attention of youngsters and adults alike for many years now.  Tennis for Two and Pong started the gaming rave in the 50’s and 60’s with their concept of video games.  Migrating to pixel happy arcade games such as Space Invaders, Pac-Man, and Donkey Kong in the late 70’s and early 80’s, the public was jumping on this new fad of entertainment.  The history of gaming can be listed in a timeline that would span roughly 60 years and list [...]

[SHO] - [cBF] February 16, 2010 Match Recap

UF: 141 started out on a good note for the warriors at [SHO]. They opened up their UF: 141 attacks with an attack from the Bunker on Underpass to [cBF]‘s frontline on Underpass as well. The game was Domination on Underpass, and [SHO] went into the match feeling confident about their strategy. The round opened up with both teams taking their closest points, [SHO] had A, and [cBF] had C, [cBF] also beat [SHO] to B and grabbed an early lead. But a well placed javelin missile from blackfuse cleared three of [cBF] and gave [SHO] the time to grab [...]

I think that I have been playing video games for the last 12 years, and I would consider myself a pretty avid gamer, but.. I’ve always wondered, what really defines a gamer? In my circle of friends I am by far the most hardcore gamer, playing a few hours a day, almost every day. All of my friends have game systems, and I have been able to influence them to purchase games that I know they would enjoy, but none of them really feel as… I guess passionate as I do about games. I love video games, I think that [...]

[SHO] scrimmaged [-VR-] again, only the day after coming out on top in the first scrimmage. Royale_360 took lead for the [SHO] this time around and was leading his squad of: ajhutch69 Prane Blackfuse KcChiefs12 Black_Bear101 DeltaOps dnatale89 phish8688 The goal for this scrimmage was again to work on communication and get used to the competitive format. [SHO] even had some applicants (phish and Black_Bear) gunning for them, and their performance on the mics and in game will definitely reflect well on their application status.[-VR-]‘s team was comprised of: DevilJack33 EL_JEFE_GRANDE oneiopen Rev_Bane DIRTYMINDED X-Factor– x-Pit0-x STR8_HATE PolarBear7 The first [...]

Celebrating Old and New!

7 Years. 7 years guys.  That is freakin’ incredible. We’ve seen some highs and lows this year, and are currently on a definite high right now…which by the looks of you kick ass members should last quite a damn while!  Thick and thin, you guys have proven that [SHO] is the perfect online family for us nerds, perverts, shy guys, and armchair generals.  So in humble thanks for all the support, patience, and encouragement you have given the clan over the years and us Execs during our time serving….here is a little surprise YOU…yes YOU!  Can rock your very own [...]

Hey everyone, welcome to the new blog dedicated to the ShadowOps gaming community. We hope that we can use this blog to provide information to clan members and the public. We will be posting recaps on matches, important clan updates, and many other things. Not much to post up now, but make sure you subscribe using your favorite RSS reader so that you can get all the updates possible! Thanks guys. -Blackfuse

Alright, so we have decided that we are going to do game reviews differently than other review sites. On the [SHO] blog, we are going to take members feedback from the Playstation Forums and compile it into a sort of community review. The reviewer will present both sides of the feedback, good and bad, or if the game is so horrible, or so great, just show that sides comments. When a new game comes out that we think deserves a review, I will post up on the forums starting the discussion, anyone who gets the game and has an opinion [...]

January 27th 2010 marked the seven year anniversary of Shadow Opearations.  We are still fortunate to have some of the original SHO members with us along with lots of new members wearing the SHO tags.  It’s amazing how fast things go while having fun! Congrats to all the SHO members who make this clan,  community, fraternity, and most importantly group of friends one of the best online environments to be around.  From Shadows …. heros are born!

On February 3, 2010 a team from [SHO] faced off with a team from Violent Revolution [-VR-] in a practice scrimmage for the upcoming UF: 141  tournament. All matches were played using the UF: 141 rules and regulations. The first map played was Domination on Highrise. [SHO] spawned on C side and quickly started to try and follow the strategy set out by their Tac Captain for the night, Maverick3324. The plan was to take both C and B and hold them for the win, but [-VR-] used smoke and got to B first. This left the warriors from [SHO] [...]
